I am interested in how the brain preserves function in the face of neural damage. My work combines computational modelling of perceptual functions with in-silico lesioning to predict the consequences of disruption, grounded in empirical validation. More broadly, I seek to understand how neural systems flexibly adapt to internal and external perturbations, and how these principles can inform models of adaptive behaviour. During my PhD at University College London, I investigated functional degeneracy as a mechanism through which neural systems may preserve function despite damage.
